core of the Skills for Life initiative has resulted an increasing
amount of resources becoming available. Several of the leading UK
ELT publishers have compromised by "mapping" popular courses
to the ESOL Curriculum, but there is not yet an ESOL-specific course

The
Department for Education & SKills web site which aims to become
the main source of information and advice on all aspects of implementing
Skills for Life. The link below takes you to the home page for
this excellent resource site. Type ESOL into the Search Box to
view the ESOL pages containing downloadable resources, lessons,
information and links to regional ESOL centres, providers &
initiatives. Possibly the best starting point site for ESOL teachers.

Adult ESOL Core Curriculum
This
is the electronic Adult ESOL Core Curriculum. An interactive website
designed to enable teachers to search and explore the ESOL curriculum,
then save, store and/or print relevant sections in the notebook facility
for use in learning plans, schemes of work or lesson plans. The website
also features page numbers from the original document for easy reference
between the electronic and paper versions. You can also order a CD
ROM version of the curriculum from the site. Comprehensive and an
excellent resource & information site.

Cambridge ESOL - Skills for Life
Cambridge
ESOL is offering three new Certificates in ESOL Skills for Life providing
flexible assessment of ESOL learners in the UK while at the same time
minimising the workload of teachers and administrators. The examinations
reflect the use of English in everyday life within the UK and are
fully based on the Adult ESOL Core Curriculum.

New Zealand Literacy Portal catalogues information about English for
Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and provides relevant links, grouped
